Each year 300,000 Americans experience cardiac arrest outside of a hospital, according to the CDC. Most of them--92 percent--die from the heart attack. Among those experiencing a heart attack:
61% are men
51% are aged 65 or older
66% are at home
53% are alone
26% survive to hospital admission
10% survive to hospital discharge
