Median household income fell to $49,445 in 2010, according to the Census Bureau, down from $50,599 in 2009 (a 2.3 percent decline) and $53,164 in 2000 (a 7.0 percent decline), after adjusting for inflation. Among householders under age 25, median household income has fallen
20 percent since 2000. The decline in median household income ranges from 9 to 14 percent for householders between the ages of 25 and 55. Here are the ugly numbers, all in 2010 dollars.
